The riskWhat an ungoverned agent gets wrong here.
A company like a global device and hardware manufacturer runs thousands of automations: AI agents and robotic process automation (RPA, software bots that mimic human clicks) spread across supply chain, procurement, IT operations, and connected-device (Internet-of-Things, or IoT) management. At that scale the governance problem is visibility. Teams stand up agents faster than anyone can track, service accounts accumulate broad access, and a single drifting agent hides easily in a fleet of thousands. Without a governance layer, there is no inventory of what exists, no enforced least-privilege boundary, and no way to catch the one agent that has wandered out of its lane.
